About the event
The interpretation of Lied and mélodie is an art of its own. The purpose of this master class is to approach the interpretation of the mélodie with emphasis on the particularities of the declamation of the French language. It is aimed at students of all levels and nationalities. Emphasis will also be placed on the connection between pianist and singer in an in-depth approach to "chamber music".
At the end of the course
you will be able to thwart the pitfalls of prosody and French pronunciation, refine the interpretation of the small form of mélodie, and have another approach to the technique related to the execution of this genre.
Master class format
The student will bring 4 mélodies in French, studied beforehand. Including one compulsory by Gabriel Fauré. He or she will perform one of the mélodies of his or her choice, which will then be worked on in public, and then, time permitting, another at the choice of the supervisors. Each singer can come accompanied by his own pianist or work with the pianist assigned to the master class.
Other remarks
The master class will be held mainly in French.
